Edgewater, like the name implies, is located on Lake Michigan's shoreline and extends all the way to Damen on the west. To the north is Rogers Park and to the south is the Uptown neighborhood. The neighborhood has seen quite a transformation in recent years. There have been a good amount of new condos built as well as old apartments that have been converted to condos. Many people identify Edgewater with its many high rises along Lake Michigan. While they are plentiful, Edgewater also has its share of single-family homes and multi-unit buildings.

The neighborhood of Andersonville is located in the Edgewater Community. Andersonville has seen the number of condos grow as many old vintage apartment building and courtyard apartment building have been converted to condos.
